Note Taking
As part of this project I have curated my notes in a physical notebook. It has been the first time that I have decided to work like this and have been testing it as part of developing my professional practice. I found that it has been a useful tool in tracking ideas and always having a way to log the next steps of a project. I have proceeded to photograph every page of my notebook and share them here as I think it is an important element in to the success of this project. I plan on using notebooks like this going forward as it allows me to track project progress in a different way than I am used to and doing it this way has allowed me to more effectively keep track of my project progress and tasks.
Referencing
Another important step for this project from the get go was tracking articles, books and papers that are associated with this project. I decided that I would document them in a different way to normal. Usually I write down the articles that I have used in each blog post and as such referring back to them is a challenge. I have instead decided to centralise the way that I store important references and have put together a spreadsheet which contains them. Doing this has allowed me to keep track of all the article that I have read in a way I have not before. It has sped up my workflow as I have not needed to research an article again but I can go to my spreadsheet and identify the article that I may need to reference for a specific part of my project.
Conclusion
I find that together that these have vastly improved my professional practice and I plan to use them for all future project that I conduct. They have sped up my research process and the ability for me to refer to research I have already done. It has also allowed me to improve my project because I have been able to more effectively track the progress and development of specific parts of my project as well as the project as a whole.
